I spend 1 week a year here.
Very hot but it is a nice little fair in Oskaloosa
Its ok during the fair and camping is do able
The fair is a fun time to see friend but not much for kids to do if they are not in 4h
We stayed 3 nights, and it was $18 per night, plus $5 to dump. I had to play chase the office staff to get my dues paid as the self service post was empty....each day. Only electric hookups for these prices. On top of this, they had the demo derby while we stayed (also pricey), and the demo-derby people used the camp ground as the pits...they were great ppl and all, but when you are trying to relax, and a 400hp non-muffled engine is being tacked up, that makes it difficult.... By way of comparison, Ottumwa is $17 per night, you get electricity, water, and sewer for free(with the very likely possibility of some kind of activity going on... not necessarily good or bad...read on..). Now, the camp ground was clean, level and the staff, once found, was very nice. Over all a good experience, but the nickle add dime was a bit off putting. Considering the options (keomah lake, Ottumwa, lake Miami, lake Wapello, lake rathbun, Eveland and others), I would consider the prices vs what you offer... I'm hopeful.
